About Abide

Catie's Story

After giving birth to my first daughter in 2015, I experienced the same pelvic floor issues that my patients struggled with. I felt lost and unsure how to navigate my own postpartum recovery. I quickly realized that even as a physical therapist, I had learned very little about how to treat my symptoms. I was reluctant to face what seemed “embarrassing” or “taboo,” but was unwilling to live with symptoms that held me back. Through the early postpartum period, I learned to treat myself, slowly improving my strength and core control. I began to realize how so many other women needed help addressing their symptoms and optimizing their lives for recovery. Thus, my journey to open Abide Physical Therapy began!

When I am not working, you can find me running around with my husband, 2 daughters, son, and yellow lab. I also enjoy being involved in my church as a student leader, doing yoga in my family room and going on adventures with my family in the Shenandoah Valley.

Why "Abide"

Prenatal and postpartum therapy can seem daunting and the road can feel long. But here at Abide, we believe there is fruit in the waiting. We stand by our clients - heart and soul! - as each woman endures as she heals.

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.” John 15:4
